Page 1: A man in a thobe is sitting in a dark room, sitting in front of brightly lit security cameras. They are shown to be an incredibly saturdated yellow, lighting his face. The new man has brown skin, short dark brown hair, and slightly rounded glasses. Dr. Rose comes into the room, hand pressed against the door. "Are you ready to perform your job?" Dr. Rose asks. The man looks back. "It really does seem like a lot for just me," he says.
Page 2: Rose looks down at him playfully, but with an air of assertive confidence. "Nonsense! I know you, and you're a very capable person," Dr. Rose says. "I just don't know if I can manage my feelings that this is all wrong," the man says. "If we worry about the ethics of it all, we'll never progress as a society," Rose says, leaning over the man's chair.
Page 3: Rose looks at him wide-eyed. "I live to progress. And you should adopt a similar attitude," he says. His eyes narrow. "Think of all the things you can discover. You have a position I envy, Dr. Farouq." Dr. Farouq continues to look straight forward. "What's so appealing about it?" Farouq asks. "You get to be up close and personal," Rose replies, sticking out his tongue.
Page 4: Rose steps away from Farouq while the man continues to sit at his desk covered in security cameras. Rose puts a hand to his chin. "I'll oversee everything, but I'll only be able to have conversations with the first batch on occasion. You'll know these miracle children as if they are your own," Rose says. Dr. Farouq is shown with a small, ginger child, holding the child close while they grab at his torso. He has a gentle smile in the fictionalized scenario.
Page 5: Dr. Farouq is shown from the back, seat in focus. "I don't know how close I can really get if I have to take care of sixteen kids at once," Dr. Farouq says. Rose goes back to leaning on Farouq's chair while the man begins to sweat. "Try for me, okay?" Rose says. He leans in further, close to Farouq's face, until Farouq's orange eyes are in focus for the first time. Rose smiles excessively while Farouq keeps his visible worry under control. "You know what will happen if you become a valued member of this project. You'll be functionally immortal, Farouq, because for as long as you support my ambitions, I'll support your life with all the technology and funding at my disposal," Rose says.
Page 6: Rose sticks out his tongue again and places a finger on Farouq's nose, shocking the man. "Without me, your disease will take over. And I know you don't want that," Rose says.
